2014 MAPC Conference – Print City: Detroit 2014

The Mid America Print Council is proud to announce our 2014 Conference, Print City: Detroit 2014, September 24th -27th in Detroit, MI. Mark your calendars!  The Print City 2014 Conference will be hosted by Wayne State University in collaboration with the Mid America Print Council.

The conference will include workshops, demonstrations, panel discussions, keynote speakers, and exhibitions. In addition to activities on the campus of Wayne State University, area galleries, museums, letterpresses, colleges and universities, and other cultural venues, in and around Detroit, will host conference events.

Fall Journal submissions: Due Aug. 15‏

Just a reminder that submissions for MAPC’s Fall Journal are due August 15. We’d love to hear your take on the theme Printmaking as a form of Social Practice (PDF for guidelines attached).

Printmaking as a form of Social Practice Social Practice is in constant flux as ideas are molded and explored by different artists and artist collectives. How does printmaking as social practice promote a wide range of approaches and methodologies in your community? To what degree does environment and audience influence this dynamic? How does it add to the complexity? Submit your compelling stories, articles, and images.

2nd International Mokuhanga Conference 2014: Exhibition, Panel and Demo Proposals

2nd International Mokuhanga Conference 2014,  September 10 – 14, 2014, at the Tokyo University of the Arts GEIDAI.

Submission for all  panel and demonstration proposals is October 31, 2013.

The submission dates for the Open International Competition Exhibition  and the Open International Artists Book Exhibition is February 1 – March 14, 2014.
