2013 MAPC Juried Exhibition Announcement

The 2013 Mid American Print Council Juried Exhibition will be on display at the John J McDonough Museum of Art, Youngstown State University’s Center for Contemporary Art from January 24 through March 15. An opening reception will take place on January 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and is free and open to the public. Anita Jung, the juror for the exhibition, will be at the Museum the same evening for a lecture at 5:30 pm.

The Mid America Print Council is an educational organization whose goal is to promote awareness and appreciation of the art of making original prints,books,hand made paper, and drawings. The MAPC Serves as a resource to educational and non-profit organizations, universities, and the public at large, providing for the exchange of technical and critical information on the art of printmaking. The juror for the exhibition this year is Anita Jung, a Full Professor of Printmaking at the University of Iowa. She is an artist who uses print as the primary media for her works of art which have been exhibited both throughout the United States and internationally. She has a BFA from Arizona State University and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2012 in recognition of her outstanding professional service and leadership within the fine art printmaking profession, she was named an Honorary Member of the Council by Southeastern Graphics Council International. The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program or organization with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
