Call for Entries:  44T Artspace in Denver, Colorado is accepting submissions for a juried exhibit devoted to fine art prints. The exhibit, entitled Swimming Upstream, will capture and convey the current pulse of youth culture.

Despite the pervasive reliance on electronic and digital media, there remains a steady flow of innovative printmaking from younger artists. Reflecting a fast-paced, neon-lit, nocturnal culture, their vision finds expression in a wide variety of traditional printmaking methods.  These artists are truly Swimming Upstream.

Original works in traditional printmaking forms will be considered. Please do not submit computer generated, electronic, digitally altered, or photographic media. Submissions should not be framed, as the gallery will assist in the presentation of selected works.

Each print should be no larger than 36” x 48”, meaning one dimension no longer than 3 feet, and the other dimension no longer than 4 feet..

Entry fee:  $25 for up to 3 submissions.  We will consider up to 9 prints by a single artist.  Include a check payable to Metro Frame Works with your entry form and CD.

Jurors:  Ayn Hannah, Lauren Wretschko, and Keith Couture.

Timeline:  August 30th – Entry form, CD with jpegs of images and image list, and entry fee due.

September 5th – Notification of acceptance will be distributed  via email.

September 20th – Deadline for receipt of accepted works.  Please note, this is not a postmarked or shipping date.   Accepted work must be received by the gallery on or before this date.

October 7th, 2011 – Exhibit Opening and Artists’ Reception in conjunction with Tennyson Street First Friday Artwalk.

November 26th, 2011 – Closing Reception and announcement of awards.
